Programs Abroad
Secondary grade students in Junior and Senior year participate in the Alabaster Project – Fashion and Baking programs.
Students are given a sewing machine to learn tailoring and fashion design basics. Our trained teachers provide 4 hours of instruction per day with additional time for the girls to work on their market projects.
Students learn tailoring terminology, techniques, hems, cuts, and patterns, by the end of 4 weeks students will have crafted various articles to be sold in the local market. This is how Alabaster Project teaches small business skills.
In our creative patisserie course, students will learn how to bake using common tools at home and how to master rice flour creating gluten free products and artistic designs. Students will learn to bake cupcakes, cakes, muffins, and other delicious treats that will delight the village market.
Each student can participate in the rotating 4 week scheduled to continue learning new skills and entrepreneurial opportunities that will change the trajectory of their lives and families.
